Does this sound familiar? You have an event that has hit capacity based on the number of Volunteers you have available. However, your volunteer base has just received a boost, meaning you can now increase the availability for your event, Sweet!!! The only problem, you have to track down the people on your waitlist to determine if they are still interested, and then manually promote anyone that says yes...
We are thrilled to introduce ‘Notify’, a new feature designed to enhance how you manage event waitlists. This tool allows you to actively inform waitlisted attendees about available spots, streamlining the process for both admins and potential attendees.
What’s New?
- Admin-Driven Notifications: With ‘Notify’, as an admin, you can send bulk notifications to everyone on the waitlist when new spots open up. This means you can quickly communicate availability, allowing those on the waitlist to take immediate action to register.
How It Works
‘Notify’ simplifies the process of filling open spots without altering the fundamental principle of first come, first served. Here’s how it enhances your event management:
- Selective Notification: Whether there are 2 spots available or 200, you can notify the entire waitlist at once. Attendees must act fast to secure their spot, as registration is still based on who responds first.
- Capacity Enforcement: Even after notifications go out, event capacity rules are strictly enforced. This ensures that your event remains organized and compliant with planned limits, preventing overbooking.
Notify vs Promote
- Notify: When you notify the waitlist, we send an email to everyone on your waitlist that allows them to complete their registration and confirm they are still interested in attending your event. However, this is first come first served, so people still aren't guaranteed to get a spot if an event is really popular.
- Promote: When you promote someone on your waitlist, you are converting them to an official attendee. They are guaranteed a spot at your event. This is a great option if you have a specific person or family in mind to fill available spot(s).
Empowering Efficient Event Management
‘Notify’ not only simplifies waitlist communications but also ensures a fair and orderly registration process for events. By providing timely updates to waitlisted individuals, you enhance their chance to participate while maintaining control over event size and composition.
