You can give price breaks by creating discounts for people to use when registering or by adding scholarships that an Admin can apply after someone registers.
Discounts let you reduce the cost of your event for attendees. Use early bird discounts, group discounts, or discount codes.
From the Discounts tab on the event page, click New Discount.
Enter the information necessary for the discount code to be activated.
- The name of the discount is only shown on the Admin side and on registrations where the discount is applied.
- Select which attendee types have access to the discount.
- Define the amount of money discounted from the price, based on percentage or a flat rate and check the box to apply it to Add-Ons.
- Choose the type of discount you want to create and set the expiration date, if applicable.
Click Save to activate the discount code.
Discount Settings are mutually exclusive. You cannot create a Code discount that is also a Group discount, but you can create one of each and allow people to apply both discounts when they register.
Discounts will be added to the whole registration. If you want a discount to only be applied to one person, they must register individually.
A popular way to give a discount is by giving a code. Enter the code you'd like to use, and when attendees use that code, they will receive the discount.
Add codes to your marketing materials for people to use when registering.
Only one code will be added to a registration. If a second code is entered, the system will give the greater of the two discounts.
Help out a large family or large group of people registering at one time by giving them a group discount. Specify the size the group has to be to get the discount, and then determine if all attendees will get the discount or if only the registrations after the minimum amount will receive the discount.
Give discounts for early registrations. The Early Bird price will be listed on the event, even if it's FREE, with the original cost crossed out next to it until the expiration date.
Add an Early Bird discount before people start registering. The discount will not apply to people who have already registered.
There is no discount that will allow you to set a max amount a person can be charged. The max amount should be the price associated with the attendee type.

Scholarships apply credits, such as money raised during a fundraiser or donation, toward a registration. Scholarships can only be applied on the Admin side.
If a person wants to give tax-deductible money to fund a scholarship, they cannot give it through Registrations. They can give in your regular giving, which will be input into your donation management system, like Giving. Once you receive the donation, add it as a scholarship and apply it where you see appropriate.
If someone wants to give directly to a person's registration, it won't be counted as tax-deductible. In this case, you can bypass the scholarship and apply the donation directly to the attendee's registration.
From the Scholarships tab on the event, click New Scholarship.
Enter the name of the scholarship as well as the amount allotted to the scholarship.
Click Save to add the scholarship then repeat the steps to add others.
Apply Scholarship to Attendee
When a person registers for the event, they will have to pay the minimum deposit, so you may need to set that to $0 if you don't want them to pay anything.
After they're registered, click Apply Payment to apply a scholarship to the balance.
Select the scholarship and amount to apply, and then click Submit to give the scholarship to the attendee.
You may need to refund the attendee if they paid over the amount.
As you use scholarships, view the amount used and remaining in the scholarship.
